I don’t normally write poetry, in fact I never write poetry. But just yesterday these words came to me as I was falling asleep. It was about 11 pm.

It has begun
See the sun rising in the east
On the foes and free alike
See the east the blessed peace
For freedom for faith for liberty
A life of peace
For you and me
See the risen the saviour king
Flag held high and notes to sing
For liberty for freedom for peace
Peace peace a note to sing
Peace peace for you and me


But it’s a new dawn
Now is not the time to retreat
To say our prayers and be done with time itself
Now is the time to withstand and hold fast to the truth that we declare
That hope is now and hope is free and it comes easily to you and me
Don’t despair and don’t give in
Freedom wins when faith begins
Don’t despair and don’t retreat
Don’t give in to mediocrity
Stand in faith and stand for all
Don’t withstand with fear for all 
Stand in faith and stand in hope
Living Justice falls for all


A new dawn ringing in the camp
Bells alive and hope in hands
Clasp them together to see and pray
Hope alive and hearts in hands
Stand for freedom and stand for all
Justice calls a judgement call
Make it seen and make it heard
Light it up you will be heard
Take no fame take no fight
Justice calls, resounds for all
